Of all the areas of the country I visited, San Diego had the most lasting good memories. Perfect climate year round. Tons of very cool places to visit. Balboa Park was my favorite. Sunday pipe organ concert is excellent. Old Town, the magical zoo and the Beaches. And day trips to Mexico or East to Alpine. Ohh and In-N-Out Burgers and fries.
The only thing that stopped any serious thought of moving was the cost. Has to be one of the most expensive housing markets in the states.
Florida summers and hurricanes are no longer reasonable.
There's a reason that the most wonderful climates are the most expensive to live. Demand! I can't believe the costs of properties on the Florida coast. Of course people are rushing there for the wonderful weather and reasonable politics. So it's expensive. The mountains of TN were popular before covid. Just about impossible after covid. Some areas of CO are and have been overwhelmingly popular with physically active, left leaners. And the prices show it. If it weren't for the taxes, Illinois would be a reasonable place to live.

Only in the summer. I can’t imagine how anyone deals with all the rust up North. LOL
