4.3 V6 milage
Have a 2003 S-10 V-6 4.3l . I might be getting. If he finds title. Wondering what kind of milage I can expect? Mianly getting becuase 2500 6.0 is killing me on cost for daily driver. Has to be lot better around town. Just wondering how much. Guessing close to 19 or 20 mpg.

As always, it will depend on how you drive it. But I have a 2001 Blazer with a 4.3 and I only get around 16 mpg if I drive it easy. If I drive as I normally do, it only gets around 14.5 mpg.

It is 4 wheel drive, but only when I select it to be 4 wheel drive. But it would be heavier than a regular S10 pick-up.

Probably pretty close to the 6.0. My dad had a 4.3 and the best I could get was 16/17 Highway.
My 2008 5.3 1500 gets average 14/15 best ever on Highway was 19/20 driving 65.
I have 1998 5.0 1500 farm truck and I’m not about to guess but it’s not good.
My 2003 Duramax averages 17/19 but I don’t drive it much.

Funny I have 2005 doge ram with hemi about 14, 2016 2500 about 13 and 1969 Panel with 454 close to 18 . Now Panel is hard to keep foot out of 4brl which never happens anyway.

Hewck if s109 get 15 or better its paid for in less than year. That is 10% plus better than getting now.

I had a 2004 Blazer two wheel drive. Got around 18, 18 1/2. Converter went out so I busted everything out of it, and started getting a solid 20 after that.

good to hear because 2003 only requires safety inspection here in NC and converter is either history or gutted.

The trick is teill Kepping Chris from bolting this mildly built 327 into it. Heck probably get milage if foot out of it.Yea that going to happen.LOL

Never had a 4.3 that got "good" mileage. Had several. Last one, maybe 17-18 mpg at best.

Here is something to think about. If you are paying $50/week for gas currently. Say your S10 4.3 costs you $25 a week. Plus insurance, taxes, registration costs, repairs, maintenance, upkeep, etc--in the end, that little fuel sipping S-10 is potentially costing you more than just keeping your current 2500/6.0. I don't know your situation, but it's always something "I" consider when I think that my old 7.3 is costing me an arm and a leg.

so at 200 plus a week? Insurance in s-10 is about 15 or 20 a month added to bill for 2 trucks,2 Harleys and one Z/28. Eve with above numbers at 25 fs 50 that 100 a month =1200 per year. With 240 in insurance, amybe 300 up keep. Still winner
Another upside is keep miles off 2500 HD. Only 85000 now and it is 8 years old. Lot of that has been since parking Dodge 1500.

!7 to 18 mpg is 40% better than getting now. Pnel only thing close and not driving it every day with retards on roads today.
