coop5140I do believe the tree readers and the ability to consistently make your car repeat, I also believe that there should be more care by the promotores, the time people should be limited even tighter 3 to 4 seconds perhaps , we all know how to stage and the game playing with long stage times and continuously flickering the lights as well as the guys trying to win a round by JBR wanna bes , not sure what the answer is but I do know yall should at least start policing or people are starting not to come back.

They're deadly consistent. Obviously.
I believe they should be banned from bracket competition, for this reason: IT'S GOT WHEEL COUNTERS. A line or two of code in the programming and you could dial it to .00x every time. An electric motor has a commutator, you can make it "count" the motor speed, acceleration rate, and even armature rotations.
Obviously several things that are banned in any of our cars.
Guy on youtube has a channel, (Tesla Plaid Channel) runs T&T at Orlando every week and documents it. Got his butt chapped early on because it's going deep into the 9's, at 151-152 MPH. So they tell him he can't run quicker than 10.00, so he practices spot dropping and mostly avoids more problem, THEN somebody at NHRA got the idea that it's okay to run 9's, Tesla downloaded software update to his car and from then on it would only go 149 MPH in 1/4 mile track mode. He's already had a close call with a car from the other lane coming across his RR quarter, only busted the tail light, but it was fractions of a second from becoming a 2 vehicle 150 MPH crash, he's got stock belts and a helmet, (might be wearing a single layer jacket?) Those cars are extremely heavy, I bet one could take the wall / barrier down at an extreme angle hit.
No parachute for those cars, but mine would have to have one. WTF?
NHRA has been busy trying to placate the people buying these factory stock 9-10 second rides.
Years ago I watched a Cadillac run a high 9 @135 MPH, dude was in a suit, no helmet.
Big end safety crew DID have a chat with him, and I didn't see him anymore.
That’s what I was getting at Dave. One ( maybe more ) West tracks lets this slide. Not cool.
The weight of these cars when there is an issue will be bad!
There is absolutely no reason for them not to comply with the standards set in place. Should be zero favoring for factory cars.

wideopen231A friend of mine asked his kid how hard with would be to build such a thing. He said not that much to it. His kid is 26 now and has PHD in science and physics. Has worked for NASA for 6 months and now works for laser company. So if he says not much to it means could be simple or rocket science. LOL Told me he could build one from scrap parts at work and al would need is to wire into system
If I ever get good runs and start killing the tree you guys are welcome to rip into car looking for it. LOL

BP758Tesla already has the technology to read red , yellow and green… The technology would be read yellow and leave! The technology would be read / react to yellow and leave.

GoobThe technology is easy, interfacing it with the vehicle, and hiding it, are the hard parts.

Have him build one, don't hide it, prove it can be done.

It's been done, many years ago.
A California based company was selling the rig, as a Vehicle Reaction Tester, but I haven't been able to find it on the web for several years now. It was about $1500, and obviously too bulky to hide.

HR3377don't matter how big it is just go to$ big $ races no tech pay ur money and anything goes yea im .00x and dead 00x 6 rounds don't think so

Curly1My opinion remains the same, I think they have the technology to make a system that would make reaction times better but do not think at this time they can make it small enough to hide and still be reliable.
The META glasses may be a step in that direction. They have video capability and photo and they look where you do.
I believe that for most of us as we get older our reaction time window gets worse. Some of these younger racers are consistently faster than us older folks. Good News / Bad news is not many young people are coming into the sport.
Anyway after 32 pages still no proof of anything and only accusations. I do not know if that helps our sport. Prove it and prosecute them or be quiet about it. Just runs people off if they think others are cheating and getting away with it. Still think we should be vigilant and open minded about possibility.

HR3377My take is its like roundy round racing if ever body is cheating the same it's fair, find the really dark gray area in the rule book and go for it, till somebody gets butt hurt it's all good. Like no box cars in the staging lanes with a box thats "turned off or unplugged it takes me 5 secs to un do my box or hook it up, when I no box race race it's in the trailer.

This chaps my butt! We physically watched a dragster driver releasing off the top bulb in no box. That's easy to detect but the starter didn't catch it. How do you detect it when releasing off the bottom bulb? It's still an unfair advantage. The rules state the box needs to be removed but no one enforces it!
Thanks for following the rules HR3377!

B KINGBTW, I have no problem with racing against a delay box/top bulb class without a box. I've raced 2 classes Pro/Super Pro & did very well. I just want to know what I'm up against & set-up for it.
