Maybe it is BS. If so, what's the harm in a preventive measure?

I'm kinda with you, Manny.
If something has been proven solid enough to create all this expense and energy, there should be enough evidence to name names, or specific hardware and incidents.

Not without using an arc module in conjunction. Don’t know why this BS comment about grids keeps coming up.

TomRWhat does the grid have to do with a tree reader?
A grid is cheap data acquisition, not a cheating device. SMDH

I laugh every time an official ask to plug into my 7730 Grid CAN-bus, when right next to it sits an ecu box with far more capabilities.

Because people believe that the GRID is a miracle device. Can you slow down a car to make it somewhat more consistent? Yes you can, but that is it. And EVEN IF you have an arc module, the repeat rate is nothing even CLOSE to a Davis box that only backs up the number between .01-.02

I'm not the one all butt-hurt because people are working on enforcing the rules, so maybe YOU better show us on the doll.

undacuva67if you think a ARC module gives a edge you need to move into 2023 and step your game up a notch. do not put your trust into a part time inspectors vague knowledge to find anything either lol....

HolytownARC is antiquated technology which was meant to be used with outlaw cars as a traction control device. It does not repeat to the thousandth, and a lot of times not even to the hundredth!
Which makes it useless in todays era of bracket racing. I made 235 runs last season, and 200 of them were going to be within .04 (barring times I was peddling) February-November at 5 different tracks.

DragRaceResultsI'd say if this doesn't affect you or your racing during the lap and can possibly stop someone from cheating you or your buddy this should be fully supported. Not quite sure of the pushback. Manny maybe you can explain your true feelings on this?

TomRI don't think it's push back really. We, as racers, would like more info on this alleged cheating device, how it works and what the new update to the system will do to stop it.
Who has been caught with one? When were they using it? Can you show us evidence with or without naming the individual?
I'm curious how one focuses the device solely on the top bulb and no other light affects the release of the transbrake?
Without any proof, it is hard to comprehend there may be people using such a device.

As I said in a thread on another site. If you are a promoter or track owner and buying the update, I'm sure it will be explained to you how it works. I wouldn't make the inner workings public knowledge but it will eventually come out how it works. Nothing stays secret anymore with the advent of the net.
Now who is using one will be something that we are all curious about because one, we are nosy and two, the people who have lost to them obviously would like to know. LOL
