Bob H I did see in the news that an Oregon school will be allowing "licensed concealed carry". I'm guessing that these individuals who target soft targets will think twice about going in.
A firearm is a tool that is it, without the use of a human being that firearm will never harm anyone. Locking holsters are the key here, plus they are concealed so the firearm would go un-noticed as it should.
I'm sure that the school is not requiring that everyone carry a firearm now, I would venture to guess that they are just allowing it, if properly licensed.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Feb 4 (Reuters) - The Arkansas House of Representatives approved a bill on Monday to allow concealed-carry permit holders to take their weapons into churches, and it is expected to be signed into law by the state's governor.
The Church Protection Act would allow individual places of worship to decide whether to allow concealed handguns and who could carry them. The Republican-controlled House passed the bill 85-8 with bipartisan support. The measure previously passed the Republican-controlled Senate 28-4.
Arkansas joins a handful of other states, including South Carolina, Wyoming and Louisiana, that allow guns in churches, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.
Many other states including Michigan.

I don't see how a church or any other private entity gets the authority to deny us our Second Amendment rights or any other rights. If it is a "RIGHT", you don't need anyone's permission to exercise it and no one has the authority to deny it.
