Senate Republicans Pass Budget That Throws 27 Million Americans Off Health Insurance

Senate Republicans made their intentions for the American people clear today when they passed a budget resolution that would throw 27 million Americans off of their health insurance.

The Senate passed the resolution on a near party-line vote of 51-48. The budget resolution is not binding, but it does set the stage for a showdown between President Obama, Democrats in Congress, and the Republican Congressional majority on the spending bills for each federal agency. President Obama has already promised to veto many of the bills due to their harsh cuts in programs for veterans, the poor, children, senior citizens, and working class Americans.

In a statement, Sen. Bernie Sanders called the Republican passed budget an absolute disaster:


This Republican budget throws 27 million Americans off health insurance, slashes $5 trillion over the coming decade from programs that help working families, cuts taxes on the richest Americans and raises them on working families with kids.

“The budget moves this country in exactly the wrong direction. At a time of massive wealth and income inequality, it gives huge tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires while making devastating cuts to education, Medicare, affordable housing and prescription drug coverage.

Despite 1.6 Billion Dollar Budget Hole, Louisiana Is Still Subsidizing Duck Dynasty


Louisiana’s state budget is in shambles under Republican Governor Bobby Jindal. The Governor’s dogmatic anti-tax ideology, coupled with dropping oil prices, has put Louisiana 1.6 billion dollars in the red. The state has become an economic basket case, and Governor Jindal’s approval rating has plummeted to just 27 percent, according to a March 2015 Triumph Campaigns poll.

Despite the state’s economic woes, however, Governor Jindal has made no plans to cut millions of dollars in subsidies to the Duck Dynasty TV show. Louisiana has the nation’s most generous entertainment tax credit program, which doles out generous sums to subsidize filming, including funds for filming the show Duck Dynasty.

Feeding Time Productions LLC, the producer of Duck Dynasty, is seeking 11 million dollars in new tax credits for the next four years to subsidize costs for filming the show. Since Governor Jindal has proposed no changes to the entertainment tax credit program, that funding is likely to be approved.

Although Louisiana only recovered 23 cents in revenue for every entertainment credit dollar it approved of in 2013 and 2014, Jindal wants to preserve the status quo. He regards removing entertainment subsidies as tantamount to a tax hike. Since Jindal fancies himself an anti-tax Governor, removing tax credits is simply unthinkable, no matter how grave the state’s budget situation becomes.


Maybe the Indian is hoping 1 of the cast of Duck Dynasty will represent the Repubs in the elections as there are no real quality Repo candidate.

Pentagon Debunks Crazy Republican Conspiracy Theory That Obama Is Taking Over Texas



Republicans like Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) helped to push a conspiracy theory that President Obama is sending the military in to take over Texas, but the Pentagon has thrown cold water on the GOP’s hysteria.

In a letter, Gov. Abbott directed the Texas State Guard to monitor the military’s training exercise. Ted Cruz said that he sympathized with the conspiracy theorists, “My office has reached out to the Pentagon to inquire about this exercise. We are assured it is a military training exercise. I have no reason to doubt those assurances, but I understand the reason for concern and uncertainty, because when the federal government has not demonstrated itself to be trustworthy in this administration, the natural consequence is that many citizens don’t trust what it is saying.”

After Republicans had given in to the crazy, it was up to the Pentagon to stop the insanity. (via McClatchy DC):






“Operation Jade Helm poses no threat to any American’s civil liberties,” Army Col. Steve Warren, a Pentagon spokesman, said Monday. “Operation Jade Helm is being conducted by Americans – by, specifically, American special forces personnel.”

“In every case, extensive coordination has been completed with whoever’s responsible for that land,” Warren said. “In the case of private land, we’ve spoken and made detailed coordination with the patriotic Americans who have volunteered their land for the use of this important training.”

Here is a newsflash for conspiracy loving Texas Republicans. President Obama doesn’t have to take over Texas. You are still a part of the United States of America. Barack Obama is your president. He is the guy in charge. Obama isn’t coming to seize your guns, your land, your Dallas Cowboys foam finger.
