Wes, besides federally guaranteed paid maternity leave, his plan calls for tax deductions for child care that's means tested against high incomes and tax credits for low incomes.
How is that not liberal?

Don't you think it would be a lot easier for republicans in congress to fight against Hillary on this than Trump?

This is a classic vote buying campaign move. While it's one more giveaway it very minor in the overall picture, a diversion if you will. Fighting Hillary as president would be impossible, hell, they don't want to.

Who says we need an ultra conservative. I don't care if it goes to who needs it instead of those who don't. Screw ultra conservatives like Cruzer.

Don't know what he's said but as friendly as he is with Harold Hamm I think in reality it would get the green light. There's been talk of Hamm as energy secretary. If so there will be fracking.

I really didn't hear any details nor have I kept up on it. But if this is something that can benefit WORKING people or help people WORK, and it isn't more burden on employers, then it sounds like a good thing to me. But then I'm not a conservative. I'm a republican.

People who have no federal income tax liability already receive Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and childcare already is tax deductible.
And his plan wants to ensure stay-at-home parents will receive the same tax deduction as working parents.
I agree Trump is not "ultra conservatives" but he's no republican either.

Might as well face it, republicans have become democrats and democrats have become socialist. There is no changing course, we will follow the failed euro path and become just another country in the new world order. Sorry I don't make the rules I just read the tea leaves.

How so? Not long ago there were Republicans around here pushing for tax credits for private or home schooling. Child care is along the same lines. So I'm not sure it is an anti republican idea. I can't say that I fully support it. But it isn't among the largest issues for me either.
In a perfect world, everyone, including businesses, would pay the same tax rate for all income, and the ONLY deductions would be for business expenses and maybe interest paid on mortgages. Everyone has choices. We choose how many kids to have, and part of that decision should have to do with if we can afford them. We can choose to home or private school our kids, but those are our choices, and those choices we know can be more expensive for us. We really don't need a credit for everything. But everything is about making exceptions for everyone. It is a world of 200 channels of tv to choose from and everyone wants the world catered to exactly their needs. That's an expensive world.
