CV Your mostly correct. However when I sold my rental properties about 10 years back, I also signed a 1099 like disclosure form from the IRS because of the large sums of money as investment income aka capitol gains. It seems here in Nevada the IRS really scrutinizes any large forms of financial transactions!
I'm sure you've read my tirade about when the IRS came after me for claiming my boat as a second home because it had a full galley and a shytter.
