I was pre-lottery and was drafted in '69 (no new Camaro for me). The war was winding down then and my orders for Vietnam out of AIT were cancelled (poor me went to Florida instead). I didn't pay any attention to the lottery as my goose had been cooked by then, but I'm surprised you feel it was in the "middle Vietnam".

I didn't wait to be drafted, I enlisted in the Army. I felt that I had an obligation to this Country which is something sadly missing these days. I'm very proud of my Grandson Kyle who is a First Class in the Navy.
Most kids today are spoiled rotten they demand everything, it's all take and no give. Please note that I said "most".
