The mega team was there and took up a whole table.Elwayneo made a pig of himself by gobbling up 30 plus chicken wings and then not being able to finish the main course.what a smuck he is.Very proud of my young cricket taking a 2nd PLACE trophy in the TCR class. someday maybe he'll prosper in to a top notch racer like the a YUK or a GERLACH. His grades are back up so he will be in the hunt again this year.

So the chicken wings were good and all dragsters banned from competition, everything else stays the same?

Yep Frank and the lack of info got me and a few other racers thinking of heading to Norwalk this summer.

Well, I for one did not attend the banquet so I cant add anything other than what I have heard. Guess we cannot really complain that much about not getting information if we did not attend the banquet. Next chance will be the drivers meeting in March.
I was told that there was not going to be much change in the entry fees, or payouts which is always good unless for some reason entry fees were to drop. I was told it was a great banquet and most of the talk was about the awards and the schedule. Not much changed that would affect your decision to race or not race. I did hear that they might be trying to put some sunday racing events at the track. For everyone that likes racing on Sunday because of work, you should support this.
However, I was not there so my information comes from someone else and I may not have gotten everything that was talked about. Have to admit though that consistancy would be a good thing.
Communication is lacking and it would be nice for someone to summarize the event details on either this website or the tracks. But then again we shouldn't expect someone to do that for us and we could be a little more patient or attend some of the gatherings where the communication is occuring. The drivers meeting will be a good opportunity to gather information.

Culp you know I got bad hearing so going to these events don't help me much plus I would rather hear it straight from the horse's mouth such as reading it on their website but like you said lack of communication and I don't like waiting till the last minute either.

I know. I was just commenting in general Clint. Everyone needs to do whatever suits their needs. I did the same thing for the same reason when Dan owned the track.

You better tie her down. All that time to blow her up, you don't want her to blow away.

Thanks Wayne, you would think the track would atleast post that on their website front page. Communication is the key to any kind of relationship whether it is a personal or business so when there is a lack of it I look elsewhere. Just like others who have to plan their vacation time to attend certain races my wife has to do the same and with lack of info then we will plane for events where we have info for.

I have read over the schedule a time or 6 and for the life of me cant figure this out. Look at Fridays program. Does that explanation not completely contradict itself?
If my memory is only half right, we had this exact issue last yr.! On the first fri. night we had an hour long pissing and moaning session about how it is gonna be run. So take a look and see if I am just not understanding or has the program changed or does it remain the same?

The way I read this Keith is that each class will be run separately until one car is left in one of the classes, then that one car will be combined with the remaining cars in the other class with more than one left and the racing will continue until one car is left....Right? I think its pretty clear.
So if no box has one car left and there are 10 box cars, the classes are combined and now there are 11 cars in a single class running for the final purse. That's the way I read it. I know there are some that would like it to be run until one car exists in each of the separated classes and then each class winner runs each other for the final pot, but that is not the way it is written.
I think it could be a little confusing to those that like the classes separated as they were in the past and then combined for the final, but that is not what this statement says.

Jim, I think Keith's point is that he reads the schedule the same as you are, however, this is how it was written up last year but they kept it so a box and no box car ran in the final round. If one class had an extra cars, they did not combine the 2 classes into 1 race.

You heard the same as I did and I was there, an co-emceeing the evening with Kenny. Here are some things changed/announced
~Thursday night street car only night
~Possible added Sundays programs, TBA
~Possible bigger-money Jr Dragster race
~Box and No-Box Bonanaza's, there will be two events again, but now with each class contested (similar to the Pumpkin Race) which I think is a better deal. B/N-B #2 may be moved from Labor Day to avoid conflict with Norwalks $10K races. Still working and ironing all final details--be patient.
The schedule (still tentative and, again, still ironing some things out). There were schedules posted at the banquet, but there will be a change or two on them (need to move one of my S/SS races, which is no big deal, from Aug 17 to another date).
The Friday night deal, I'm unsure of. I know it was worded in 2012 as it is now for 2013. I didn't start working there until June 8 last year, and it was always one car in each class that run off for the overall Friday winner. I'm sure that will be discussed in the Drivers Meeting upcoming (March sometime).
Looking forward to seeing you all at the track this year.

Ahhhh, did not realize that. The way it is written it is as I stated...This definitely needs clarified at the meeting or on the website.
