Balaska347They probably wont get many from PRP. We still have two points races left and modified is $1000 to win for a $45 entry plus round money.

John CadamoreSorry to see what some of our top class dragster racers are starting to do with their staging procedure at PRP. Legal yes, but I lost a lot of respect for some of our racers. I guess what-ever it takes to win is "fair game"

ChuckTFrom the PRP site this morning:
Any and all tiebreaking run offs that will need to be done, will be done next Saturday, September 7! This includes racers tied for spots to make the bracket finals team, and for racers tied for points positions.

Bronson Jr.John I agree. That is why it is more fun to beat a dragster.

Tony FagnilliAfter a car does the burnout the driver backs up his car and only turns off the stage bulb. Then the driver moves forward and lights the stage bulb. There's nothing illegal about it, but some people don't like it.
Personally, I don't see any advantage. If one stages carefully, there's not any difference.

Triple Nickel IICombat that practice by being pre-staged when the dragster comes back from his burnout.
Stage your car as soon as he backs through his stage beam (that will give you 3 bulbs on the tree... both of yours and 1 of his) and that will begin the Auto-Start cycle.
He'll have to hustle just to get his car back in a forward gear and get the car bumped in before being "timed out", much less giving himself a moment to clear his head for a respectable leave.

27KeithA little jersey staging going on ehhh? What triple jerk suggested will only work if the starter has set autostart before the burnouts. Highly unlikely that is the case. Very unsportsmanlike also but i would expect nothing less from him. Let the games begin...There used to be one track who's track rule was both bulbs must be lit in a forward motion.

2 X Run off Winner

Balaska347That's what I would do. Don't wait for the dragster to do its burnout first. Do your burnout at the same time and get up there and pre-stage. There is no rule saying dragsters have to do their burnout first. It may just disrupt their game and if not at least you wont have to rush because you will be ready.

VX96This is too funny! DoorCars are aloud to do this also. But where the misconception of this staging practice is....
1) the prestage bulb is NOT a part of "timed" timing system. It is only for reference. You can run a race without prestage bulbs.
2)This practice speeds up the time of getting race cars down the track! (1to3 bumps not 8to10). I wish all cars did this.
3) Everyone stages different. As stated before. This style staging is legal! and is in no way "cheating"! You stage your way....they stage their way. Race your race not theirs.

Really?
Generally vehicles with no front brakes are the only ones allowed to go across the starting line as part of the burnout process.
