I was wondering if anyone knows how many cars are at the pittsburgh autorama? I was there in the past and don't remember it being that big but i read where it was full this year and utilizing 2 floors. I don't recall it being 2 floors either or did i miss something. I just don't want to drive 2.5 hrs. if it is the same and I remember it. Any info is appreciated.

green1what I don't get is why every track that has rules different than the sanctioning body doesn't have a sign posted somewhere around the staging lane, behind the starter would be great, so all the racers can read them without having to see it on a website or hear by word of mouth. If they did this and there were conflicts they could just point to the sign.

X2... There is a lot of things like that that happen where i think the IHRA RULE WOULD SAY DIFFERENT,LIKE HOW A BOUGHT LAST YEAR SOME GUY'S TRAN'S BREAK DIDN'T HOLD AND ROLLED THREW THE BEAM AND WENT RED AND THEY RERAN THE ROUND ????? WHY. They start giving reruns every time someone has a mechanical problem night's are going to be real long. (JMO LOL)

Really! Thats just stupid. If car broke and couldn't be held in place and broke beam redlighting then put it on the trailer with a loss. Nothing about that should be given a rerun.

Scotty CLorco28, the car show is both top and bottom floors and looks like going to be something there for everyone and I would say it is worth the trip...
And as far as the beams, I went red to Lou and he never left the beams I was 8.0's he was 9's I lose no questions asked thats the way it should of been and should be and was, the dude never did anything to lose he staged to buy the race all he needed to do..

green1Exactly Scotty!
And I think if what you are saying is true about transbrake not holding then that person needs to man up and just put it on the trailer and go home, even if the track offer a rerun it just isn't right.

This did happen...the sad thing is that the guy that lost was out on a bum deal when he lost the re-run, and the guys trans-brake didn't hold in the next round. There was no re-run on the second one.

green1I would hate to be there if that guy blew a motor in the burnout, they would probably make his opponent wait till he went home and swapped motors!

Pro 301gUhhrr... I remember that day well! If it wasnt for Hank (Prest) the car would still be burning! The rule was changed by IHRA a few years ago about breaking the beams. Dont remember, but i think you had 2 minutes to get the car out of the lights.
Head 13 I got a fathead sticker for your race car next year...I'll bring it to the race Sat.

ChuckTAJ, Mark, and I are very happy to announce that Pittsburgh Raceway Park is now the presenting sponsor of the 4th Annual Steel City Practice Tree Shootout! PRP is donaing $200 to the big race purse.
So, without an entry purchased yet, thanks to our sponsors, there is already $500 in the big race purse to be won. 75 entries in the big race will mean $1000 to the winner - pretty sweet for a $20 entry, a $5 lunch, and a really good time! Please email us at steelcitydragrace@yahoo.com if you will attend
