Tom, Matt and I are just band aids in Jim's absence. Your services are needed... I can take pics, and Matt can update YB during the Pro Mods.

Nick-- Sorry to hear that the little green monster is down- I think it will love the 408. Don't give up on brackets yet !! Jeffery-- sweet passes at 9.95 & 9.96- and I think the last pass i saw was a 9.93, congrats--see- it was coming, and a little more tweaking, and it will probably go into the 9.80's. Congrats to Scotty & Aj Casper for the finals in MOD, and to Joe Conti, and Tom Scott for the finals in TOP. Congrats to the 2 youngsters that were in Street also-- I haven't had a chance to meet you, but I will. It was good to get to spend a day with u guys, and race. I hope the weather lets up with the heat, so I can come out some more. I'm looking forward to going to Bristol for the World Footbrake Challenge next weekend with Mark Romeo- AJ-Greg-Scotty-Chucky-Mikey- Matt- and all the girls. I hope "OUR GANG" can bring home some of that Bristol prize money.

thanks dean, im just glad im over that hurdle. car ran great. once i put the timing back in after the first pass of 10.01, it ran a 9.96, 9.95,9.95, lifted way early in the 2nd round and ran like a 10.70's then in the 3rd round, it ran a 9.944 on a 9.95 with a 014 light. but with the other car dialing a 8.52 and having over 22 mph on me at the stripe, i just couldnt lift. but it was a really fun day. This message has been edited. Misc. notes John Vergotz didn’t make a pass. Not sure what was up with them but they worked on it all day. I visit each pit between rounds to keep track of what’s going on. John and I joke about the fact he doesn’t give up much information. I told him I had a better chance of finding out where Osama Bin Laden is hiding than to find out what they’re doing. Brian later told me he had a better chance of finding Bin Laden than to figure out what their problem was.
Thanks to Kevin Bealko and Team Cobalt. Every time we race at Pittsburgh they bring me a sandwich from a place in Uniontown called The Potters. This week they brought a sandwich called the Village Idiot from some place in Clarksburg. He assured me the sandwich had a name before they knew me.
Andy Jensen picked up the $1,000 bonus for the first three second pass in the Pittsburgh Pro Mod series with his 3.9561 in qualifying. He told me that 196.51 was his career best speed. Jensen gave a hint that the bonus would go when he ran 4.04 at only 165 mph on a shakedown pass before qualifying. He had some very kind words about the series and how he is treated at the track. Track Manager Greg Miller and his staff are very appreciative of the support of Jensen and all the other racers in making the series work.
Chip Forman has won both of the races completed this year, both delayed until Saturday.
The next edition of the Pittsburgh Pro Mods will be Friday August 27th, if it doesn’t rain.
