Bruce WilliamsCylinder head temps?
What is an acceptable cylinder head temp on a blown alcohol engine?
This is on a dry setup.
What sensor can be used to monitor a dry head temp?

wideopen231They make a head temp single wire that is 1.8 not jsut threads into head. If possible middle is best locataion. Think autometer sells one and a cheap 60 buck gauge will tell you temp/
I normally like 170 to 180 on line for best power w/o stupid temp on big end. Now if driving back it can get little high. You can add a richening valve that manually operate or pulling lot of timing down low helps. Richening works great for dropping temp on ride back. With vacuum pump not big deal or heat it good at end of day and open to let if breathe.
The sensor is fairly cheap and as said a gauge not biog deal either, 100 buck total maybe/

Any chance you have a link?
I called autometer and the tech guy said they didn't have anything for a bolt on solid head type of gauge. I have found something on Amazon
air cooled cyl head temp gauge this has some mixed reviews bur for the price it may be worth a try.
