With the limited number of events and the travel distance on the West Coast and the reduction of NHRA events in 2019, has anyone considered forming a independent TD and TS Series? If you set up a six race Series, two at Tucson, two at Bakersfield (or Fontana) and two at Sonoma (or Sacramento) that didn’t conflict with the NHRA events it would fill in the blanks and give you additional events for the year. You might consider structuring the events like the PRDA events. It would require purse funding but these cars are exciting to watch, someone should be interested in becoming a Title Sponsor. PDRA is able to find funding, why not a West Coast Independent TD and TS Series, one race on Saturday and one on Sunday, not a five day deal. When you consider that annual expense of competing with these cars and only having a few events to run them at seems that holding out for just the few NHRA events drives up the cost per event. Just asking. Bob

NMCA-West ran TD as a class for a couple of years, but didn't get the participation they needed. We would be interested! Maybe start with a Top Comp and then run separate shows, if there are enough cars in each? Initial races need to be all run for getting enough cars to make it worthwhile. This needs to be a race your car deal, not an ego "I'm fastest" deal!

The biggest issue to me is not whether racers are interested, but WHO EXACTLY is going to manage the scheduling, funding, sponsorship [if any], and on and on...! It's a lot of work with little help usually and dealing with racers AND race tracks can be a real challenge! When SCEDA [the original Comp Eliminator based one] was started way too many years ago, that was one of the major challenges. The new SCEDA [Brackets, SS/STK, Jr. Dragsters, etc.] is a success due to all of the time and effort that the Cannon family continues to provide!
