DRR Trophy |
Well, as we all know most of us sat through 3 days of rain at Maple Grove last weekend waiting to hopefully get a chance at racing on Monday but, as is the story with MG, the track had too much water under it to do any type of racing. The new date of Aug 28th & 29th now falls on Race # 4 & 5 of the 2021 Top Challenge and the event that we held last year along with the .90 Cars in place of the Keystones since it was cancelled because of COVID. We moved the .90 portion to the following weekend of Labor Day but, for those TS Racers that is also Yellow Bullet weekend and I know a few of you go to Cecil for that event. With trying to keep the series as one with TD & TS we weighed out every option possible because it's only fair to the racers who signed up for points to get a full season in. When looking at NHRA events, PDRA, Atco and Cecil TS /TD events we couldn't find anything open to help out the racers. Weekends that were open Maple Grove had an Import Race or an event where the track was being rented out. We had thought about a double race at Super Chevy but, for those who have been to the event know it's a struggle to get one race in, let alone 2 events during that weekend. So unfortunately the only other option was to add a single race on June 26th along with a Sunoco Points Race so we could at least get you all 5 events this season. The bad part is this on top of Norwalk National and PDRA at MIR but, hands are tied with what weekends we have left. So tell your friends, let's try to make the best of this situation thrown at us. So here is the schedule for the rest of the season. Once again sorry for the inconvenience on this: June 26th (1 Race) - June 25th is the Maple Grove Shin-Dig BBQ that you can RSVP for that is to honor the 2020 Champs since they didn't have a banquet July 17-18 (1 Race) - Part of the Super Chevy Race Sept 17-19 - Part of the NHRA Dutch Classic (1 Race) | |||
