I need to loose some weight for as much et as I can gain..im down to little things that may knock off a bit here and there.
I found a new set of wheels that are 3 pounds each lighter than my current ones.
they say go with titanium beadlock bolts that's 2 lbs total
thinking of going with a lightweight converter,my current one weighs a ton
im guessing these areas will save me about 18lbs but id like to shed another 50
any suggestions?

As you know it all adds up.
I really don't know what you have in your car or not so I'll just list stuff in NO particular order.
No Bead Locks
No 4 link -- easy 100 pounds
Light weight Battery
Light weight Starter
No extras -- No Tach and no gauges, use logger
Use Goodyear tires -- they are lighter than most
No Paint or wrap
You get the idea.

Not sure where your at, Im right at 2140lbs. 4 link, aluminum body, 46lb battery, aluminum block and 110lb blower. I am 265lbs dripping wet in the morning and I can run well under the 6.10 index. I always wonder how fast it would be with 100lb lighter driver...

Ditch the cooling system (if you have one), trans cooler, lightweight battery, bolt together converter, setup the car so no weight is needed in the nose...…..

im already in the wrong direction...moser just sent me a pair of their "lightweight" axles and they are 4.2 lbs heavier than my 12 year old moser axles wtf
I talked to greg at fti and they can build a bolt together that's 21lbs lighter than my current one.

When I switched to the FTI XPM bolt together from an FTI welded converter I immediately picked up some ET.....especially in the 60'

Plus it's easier to pick up and install in the trans!

I can't say that I blame Ryan, the 6.10 thing really got me thinking about getting out.

You don't have to worry about bouncing in a Spitzer, Bos or Page car. I'm sure there are others that are just as good also.
Remember, length is a good thing. Eek
I know in my car I can't feel any bumps.
I've only had 1 issue EVER and that was at LVD BEFORE they re-did the shutdown. My chutes hit exactly when I hit the bump in the shutdown, what a ride.

You'll be fine and A LOT FASTER just by switching cars.

Frank, when I spoke to him he cited the 6.10 thing as being a major factor in calling it quits.

Yep, but you can't blame him.
He built a purpose built car and they took the class away from him.
That's how I feel.

I just wish PDRA was closer.
The problem is you really can't run both NHRA and PDRA at the same level.
If you want to run the fast PDRA class you'll be well into the 5's in NHRA.

Like I said, NHRA took the class away.
What are his options, lift at the cones and spike the brakes. That's all we can do.

The rules were there and they chose to ignore them until someone started drinking the kool aid.

And anyone who says "just slow the car down" has NO IDEA what is involved with doing that.
I'm sure Ryan knows, that's probably why he wants out.

Anyway Mike, Maybe talk to him. It's a nice piece.
Smile

That is one of the main reasons I run PDRA. I built my stuff to run fast and I can do that at their races.

It does involve lots of travel, last year the closest race to me was 400 miles. This year I got a break, only 150 miles next weekend. Then over 1000 to the next one......
