Larry, is this your build to race/ re-sell or for someone else?

Very nice. I like white. How about cutting to the chase and list the Engine /trans/ 3rd member specifics if known?

This is my personal, top bulb racer. It will weight around 2800 pounds with the driver and 1/8 mile et range of 5.80's The steps and parts between now and completing are a work in process.

Some things are committed, SBC, 9" rear, four-link, 32 x 14 tire, methanol. Beyond these details, it is a clean drawing board.

This build will be an exercise in patience for me because each and every piece that goes on will be painted, polished, detailed, whatever. Yet, as always with my builds, a sharp eye on cost vs return. Example, the taillight lens are not perfect and in a perfect world, they would be new. However, in your spare time, surf the web and price third-gen Camaro taillight lens and get back to me.

The cost of the new taillight lens can be much better used in an area related to performance.

Also, this build will be an exercise in weight removal yet retaining a clean, professional look. I am working on the headlight housing bar and related mounting and expect that assemble will weigh about 6 pounds less when modified.

I do plan to incorporate the factory doors with power windows. Team member Monte has performed considerable weight removal surgery on them.

The gray colored piece is the factory fiberglass fixture that contains the headlights and support for the front bumper fascia. The EO headlights are glass, so by replacing those with plastic lights and some whittling on the fiberglass support, and completely removing the front bumper that is inside the fascia, we have removed 18 pounds.

By utilizing such weight removal details through the car, drilling, cutting, removing excess materials here and there, a considerable weight removal will be realized.

This fitment check will be torn down back down for painting then reinstalled.

Support that front urethane with some sort of tubing. My 1988 Firebird has no front bumper and about around the 1000ft the urethane caves-in a lot! In the 1/8 you might be fine. I go 135 in the 1/4, so maybe around 120 it pops in. Have some cool shots of that somewhere from a fellow racer. Cracks the darn paint. Frown
