IMO the 3190 works better if running 4.50 or quicker than the 3191...but the 3196 is the best I’ve ever run...

3190 will perform better in bad conditions over 3183...3195 or 3196 work even better in crap conditions.

Do you think the 3190 performs better in bad conditions over the 3191?

How does the 3190 perform in cold conditions, say 60* or less?
I feel the 3196 does not perform as well in those conditions over the 3191.

I did not see a whole lot of difference between the 3191 and the 3190.

I have found the 3196 to work the best over all conditions just as Whomp Whomp has...He is much faster than us...I went to the 3196 late last year and dropped the 3191 and the 3190 (smaller tires) all together.

The 3196 seems to last a super long time for us too. My red car has nearly 300 laps on a set of 3196 right now.

Agree with whomp, I have also seen the smaller tire faster on the slower car which made better sense to me.

I have also seen zero change before going 4.40's when I expected the bigger tire to be slower.

Whomper is going faster than 40's bracket racing and I think he will agree the big tire loves wheel speed down low.

I went back and forth all year last year with 3191 on bead locks and 3196 on non bead locks. I saw no ET difference, no MPH difference, if there was an rpm difference it was only 50 rpm. This was at a few tracks. Shock setting and air pressure is a different story. 3 clicks and .5 lb if I remember right between the two.

I put the 3183 with bead locks on for a race in November at Richmond, it was cold out. I didn't have any data from this track with this combo, and my grid recording was acting up so I don't know rpm info. but there was not really any difference for me in ET and MPH. It was about the same, maybe a little slow with low elevation and cold weather. But I'm on alky, given the cold weather and low elevation I may have been at the limits for what I had at the time. Low 4.50s with all three tires.

Bringing this back to life. What has been the average RPM difference between the 3183 the 3191 and the 3195? I am getting new tires and want to decide.

Not positive how much RPM difference between the 3191 and 3195, but I believe the 3183 are a "high growth" tire. They start out at a smaller diameter and grow more than the 3191 will at the finish line, I think almost to the same diameter of the 3191. What do you have now that you are switching from?

I am going from a 15 inch 3084S tire. I know on paper the 3183 is the closest match but could not opposed to lowering the rpm a little.

3190, 3191, 3183, 3185 all run about the same rpm at the finish line. The 3195, 3196 are about 400 rpm lower at the finish line

Thank you. Does anyone have any comparison of 15 inch 3084S going to say a 16 inch 3183 or 3191?

I didn't ever record data but I went from 3084S to 3191W and when I did I switched from 4.10 to 4.30 gears also, as well as put in a grid and I really didn't notice any ET loss, maybe actually a little gain and with the 3191 I was around 6800 1/8 or so shifting at 7000. Never did run 1/4 after the switch cause all local tracks switched to 1/8.
