I just talked to Kevin this week as mine did the same thing. I have a box from '03 with the green back light and he says there is nothing you can do on your end to fix it, needs to be sent back for repair. He says the new lighting is a forever deal and should never go out. I'll be sending mine off after I run my last race of the year, till then i've got my flashlight if it gets dark.
