I was looking at a set of procomp H rods # pc4119. Has anyone used these or know if they are a desent rod to use in a 496 motor. I know most everyone uses eagle or scat. Just thought I would save a few bucks and try them..
Thanks

Junk.
How much power are you looking to make? There are plenty of good ones, but rods ain't the place to save a few bucks.

You'll probably be as well off to fabricate rods from ever how many dollar bills those Projunks cost. Hell they may even be stronger.

I saw this one too, says it made from USA chromoly . I didnt think no one in the usa made rods anymore?

These race rods are proven to perform on 8,000 RPM 800+ HP race engines. Rods are manufactured from a TWO-PIECE FORGING using USA 4340 Steel.

The Chinese buy so much of our (USA) steel and aluminum that the prices have almost tripled in the last few years.
So yes, the Chinese are using US steel to make the rods in China.

Not bashing Chinese parts, I feel the better quality pieces have a place in motor building, I'm just explaining how they're saying "USA 4340 steel" in the ads.

I'd bet the farm they are not using AQ 4340 American steel... perhaps they take full credit for some recycled BS they buy that we sell as scrap...

That's the thing about ebay. You have to use some common sense when dealing with the sellers. If it sounds like duck, I assure you it is a QUACK!

How in the hell did we get to the point where we can sell steel to an overseas company that can manufacture parts cheap enough to pay shipping on the steel both ways and still undercut domestic manufacturers who are buying the same friggin' steel and don't have to pay any shipping or tariffs?
