The converter was originally an Abruzzi wat 04 for when the combo was na, low 4.80 high 4.70s. Tsi went thru it and changed changed stator before the blower was a thought. It’s always been a slug up front with a lot of mph. High 4.70s was 1.09-1.10 60’ 145-146 mph.

Picked up the trans used with input shaft, no idea who’s shaft, stock pump, 8 clutch drum. Never have checked pressure.

I initially ran type f when I first put the blower together. I since drain the trans (shallow pan) and put in hydraulic fluid. 3 qts I believe? that did tighten it up about 100 rpm on flash, when I had a 33t pulley on it. I should have mentioned that prior.

To explain a little better, I'm helping a guy with a fairly high rent heads up car. We have two combo's of pump and input.

We have a 1" TSI ringless with a pump, with a T400 stator tube, and we have TSI NASA ringed input with a pump, with a powerglide stator tube.

We haven't tested both yet, but the converter will act different according to the pump and input in play.

Obviously we'll end up on the pump and input that's fastest.

So point being, if ya'll did have the same converter, the only way you could really compare notes or obtain data off each other, is if you had the same stator tube and input in play.

I do feel a tighter converter would be be faster in our configurations.

I agree with your statements.

We're all set up to monitor everything, with every bell and whistle. We even have a couple different servo's we can change up line pressure as well.

It's just a matter of getting some laps in on it. He took it to one race and jacknifed the trailer on the way home, just a catastrophe weekend.

Anyway enough of that, ... If I were ya'll, I'd be looking at the converter pressure and ways to affect it, before just throwing converters at it.

Because, you may already have what you need to make some noise, you just need to uncover it.

This is written from the perspective of *low* or in other words inadequate converter charge pressure.

You can adjust converter pressure 35psi and not experience cavitation, and as high as 125-130psi safely, without hurting a stock thrust.

With a roller bearing thrust, you can go higher than 125psi converter pressure, and not hurt the thrust.

When you add heavier hydraulic oil, it raises the pressure and tightens the converter.

15% doesn't sound like it's blowing through the converter though, these guys running prochargers and a lot of boost and engine rpm's at the stripe, are around 20% converter slip 1/8 mile.

ATI Billet Aluminum Super Pump, ATI ringless shaft, standard turbo spline diameter, teflon sealing rings in the pump stator, input shaft is nice in smooth in the sealing area. Trans runs cool considering the abuse it sees. Best input shaft and stator combination i've stumbled across in all my years of racing. Cooling flow seems great.

FTI offers a billet aluminum pump (teflon rings inside stator) and input shaft, only difference i could tell is pump didn't have any identification machined into it. 99.5% sure FTI is getting them from ATI. I've had both of mine apart and i see no difference.

Made a few changes

Went from a 4.30 to a 4.10 gear.

Changed converter from 06V to 06XAT. still 9"

Stalls 61-62 With out a rev limiter

Launched at 4200. Flashed to around 6300. shift at 7400 fell back to around 6500. 7300@155

Ran it in decent air low 70s. 50% humidity 2500 CA

Lost a few numbers up front 1.05 2.93 4.52@155

Probably work pretty good if I want to step up the power

Nitrous is that with the 10"? Sounds a tad looser than my Trans Specialties converter. I agree if you step up the power it will be pretty sweet. Would like to see mine at 6400 flash/66-6700 fall back. Leaves a little room for power increase but not so tight it is violent down low.

Those ET and MPH numbers are exactly where i'm really targeting.

I got a 10” Abruzzi for mine. I took a 9” FTI 93bc out to replace it with. It’s a bit tight so I’ll need to send it back in but the 60’ was so much more consistent and it locked down in high gear. 7.06 @ 192 in 3500’ this weekend.

Multiple time slips have been sent to me from a DRR member & seen the car race in person. It's an NHRA door car & it will run circles around your turd pipe rack! I'm not posting the slip but will give the times. They don't need nor want the Queenie drama you bring.

Neither one of our posts belong in this thread. I realize that, but your Dumbazz doesn't; other than to thump your tweety bird chest.

Wrong it don’t matter how the OP’s power is achieved, the fact is his performance is similar to my dragster though mine is quicker/faster. I also run the same tire and the gear he was running and only an Internet forum nobody with a cutup 10 second shyt box could be stupid enough to call my pipe rack a turd. Further my 8 second door car also pisses all over your pos!

More clueless comments from you, a jealous broke dyck dreamer that ain't done shyt nor got shyt worth talking about. Laughing very hard

Wrong ..............Again! Your post doesn't belong in this thread other than for you to thump your tweety bird chest. Razz Comprehend, I compared your turd pipe rack to another members door car performance.

Mr. NHRA Window Licking Fuc.tard, you still avoiding parking your butt in the race seat & competing at the Big Show.
