Chassis certification question
Do you have to be an NHRA member to get a certification?

No as far as I know.

I'm sure the paperwork wants a license number, but maybe you can get around that.

There is a space on the NHRA chassis Certification form for license or member number but I have never been asked for that information. My last 8.50 and the newest one is a 25.4c cert, both have that space blank and the chassis passed in Division-3.

We usually get both certs on our cars and they've never asked for a license.

we would get both NHRA and IHRA certs but only had an IHRA license and never had any problem.

Yeah, I was wrong. It's the license form that wants a cert #.
