So here is the issue we discovered. The wheel has 560 thou of gap the tire has 630 thou of bead bundle. So it only has 70 thou of crush which is not enough crush to seal the tire. We are currently working with the manufacture on the fix for the rings.

With that said it was not a wheel issue it is just an issue with the difference in the bead bundle. I do run M/T bubbas and what I have read is that the M/T's do have less of a bead bundle then hoosiers or goodyears.

Thanks for all your responses and help.

I had an issue with my welds when i went to mount up a new set of Hoosiers. Hoosier changed the thickness of their bead which was thicker and i had to get a shim kit to fix the problem. My welds have a OMF bead lock set up

I have run Goodyears, MT big and small Bubbas , and Hoosiers c1500 and c1550s on my Weld V series bead locks and never had any issues with leaks or tire movement with any of those tires.
Well the MT did leak air but not from the beadlocks Big Grin

I have a set of Hoosier radials that won’t clamp tight on my welds but I just used them for mock up never tried running them. They are a set when they first came out with them that came from a super stock racer.

Actually listening to the responses of people who have zero idea of what they are talking about. Let me give some education on wheels and rims. If you own Mickey Thompson rims most don't know there are 2 different ring thicknesses. Weld rims same thing. If you are referring to the racestar rims Greg Anderson entire team are running them also Elite is running them and multiple Promod teams are. Believe it or not they are very high quality come w titanium bolts and rims are as good as a delta as they are 1 piece. Most again are unaware that the rim companies offer two different thickness rings. Hope this clears up the confusion.

You`re one of the people with zero idea of whats going on. Hoosier changed the thickness of the bead on some of their tires in which i had to get a shim kit to properly clamp the tire to the rim.

If they are good enough for Greg Anderson and Elite, two of the best teams then they should be able to hold up to the massive horsepower we are throwing at them?

Just saying.......

I'd imagine the fact that they are probably not paying for them has a lot to do with it. That being said my buddy has a set of 15x15 standard bead wheels that have been trouble free

Not only are they not buying these wheels but you can be sure the wheels they run are not production wheels as nothing on a pro stock car is OTS nor OTB! More to the point, I’d bet their wheels are made in the USA.

You get what you pay for, especially when it comes to engineering and materials. There is a difference!

And yes, I'd bet those wheels on the PS cars are forged and machined here in the U.S.A.

The quality control on the items that come from china is poor at best.

to me

Tom,

Our wheels are designed in house and currently made in China.

There are no Cast wheel companies in the US that we can use, Our Pro Forged wheels utilize a Stir Fusion Welding Process which is not available in the US.

Thanks, Mike

Americans don't wanna know these are American firms, with American quality control agents, hiring chinese labor.

It's not a comfy / cozy thought to know chinese labor can produce the same quality, American labor can.

The awful Truth - America never had any competition until elected officials wrote the laws to create competition, for their profit.

Everyone should quit lying to themselves.

So someone thinks Greg Anderson and Elite are getting them for Free? You mean like a sponsorship deal? No Way! Say it aint so!

But all the other Pro teams buy Weld and pay full price. Sure they do. Sure.

And you say the ones that Greg Anderson and Elite has are really made here? So you saying those are good but the others are not or you really just saying you do not know what you are talking about? We all know.
Where do you come up with this bull? Unless you have some kind of proof which you do not you are just talking out your anus and making a fool of yourself. Again. Ediot.
