What is HP limit of the Lightweight Strange non thru bolt aluminum case in a 2400lb car? Is flex an gear life the only issue? Thanks!
I would give Strange a call. I know I ran one in a Heavy 2850 car in the 1.19 60ft range and then 1.13 in a 2450 lb car

Providing advice based on WINNING CHAMPIONSHIPS AND RACES across the country in door cars and dragsters from 12 seconds to low 6 seconds in both (not a first round by bye-back window regular at the only track I go to). Providing WINNING ADVICE BASED ON FACTS AND PERSONAL EXPERIENCE ON CARS I WORK ON, OWN AND RACE. Not unsubstantiated opinion I came up with sitting on the toilet.
....been around 1.07 several times.. gear and everything still looks happy but have heard varying opinions on limits of case ..but if it ain't broke don't fix it ...??
I run it 1.06 sixty foot, 1800 Lbs altered with 2 quarts Redline synthetic several thousand passes. Most of those passes were at 1675 Lbs and (1.18?) 5.30-5.45. Just stepped on it a little harder last few years.
2000 lbs dragster 4.4x - 4.7x and normally get 800 runs out of a 4.30 gear.
Working just fine in a SS car
I have been .968 in 60ft. with a 1925lb blown dragster. Mine has been in service for five years, with 4.10 and 3.70 gears with no issues.
Not sure it is question of how much power.More question of how much abuse before it has issue.IMO it will take quite abit ,but thru bolt will take more. I think a lot of the time something else fails and the case get blamed for being too weak. As stated above lots of folks have had them in service for while with no problemns.
Now that said if I was buying a new case it would be bolt thru.I can break anything and the best may not last.LOL
