I did purchase the mityvac one.

I used it on my wife's car, and worked great. Then the cherry on top was that the oil filter was on top of the engine. It really made the oil change hassle free.

Definitely can see the other uses for it, Being able to easily remove all the fluid from the rear end or transmission before having to remove them reduces potential for messes.
