Ok got great deal on vacuum pump and finally got mounted to TFX block. In only 4th setup.LOL

Going to put some new rings in motor anyway.Might as well make use of any power gains from pump at same time. Now buying new pistons so have to work with whats here. Set up for .047 dyke(ss),1/16 and 3/16.
Figure to go with low tension oil rings, well as low as 3/16 set up will allow.Maybe swap out gapless secondary and probably stick with SS dykes top since will run 35% load for some Nostalgia stuff. Ideal no,btter than ones in motor yes.

Question how much power gain realistically will pump and ring swap be worth.
Small motors 482 and 526 CI(both sitting here) TFX Hemi 13.5:1 injected.

Thoughts and /or suggestions on ring combo and gains?

Personally, I would avoid the low tension oil ring. You will gain more power with a dry combustion chamber than what you will gain w less drag in the ring package.

Stick with a standard (24lb) oil ring. The vac pump will still net a little help.

Now wait one second. Your saying run what I have and gain some power(not as much) and not spend extra money. This does not compute.LOL Ok guys April fools was week back and we drag race.

I mean he11 I'm not dead set on spending the money. Guess the crew chief thing is hard to hold back and always looking for more. Even if I know its bracket racing not heads up balls to the wall racing.
