I totally get that. They weren’t cheap but I’ve been traveling much more this year and have been worried about a blow out that rips the fender or wheel well out and costs that much or more plus trying to get it off the road. Luckily the one that went down did so as I was exiting to the track. I just limped in and changed it in the pits. Plus the 225s added 700 lbs more per tire in load capacity.

I always take some wood blocks with me. Just put the blocks in front/behind the good tires and pull the trailer up on the blocks so the flat is off the ground.

At one time I probably towed as much or more than most on here. 3 axel trailer eliminates a lot of the worry, check the air before you leave and often till you get back. Tires---I buy 235X15 Good Year Wranglers from Walmart. I run 40 lbs of air and have yet to have one blow out on this trailer that I have had for 20 years. I also tow at the speed limit or more. I would usually change all 6 every 2--3 years. This has worked for me but I think checking the air is the most important thing

Still considering purchasing one of these kits. Would make things a little easier to monitor from the tow vehicle. Take some of the worry away while towing.

I'm interested in switching to LT tires for mine. I had a sidewall blowout a month ago but just went ahead and bought a ST tire to get by. What bothers me is that the tires were brand new, made one trip to Carolina and back to Virginia - and the sidewall comes out on my third trip to the track this year (about a 40 mile trip - 1 way). My guess is that the tire had about 800 miles on it total. My wheelwell is tight so thinking to replace the 225s with 235s and keep the same rims. There seems to be more LT 235s to pick from than LT 225s.

I been using these for over 7 years, on my second set. They are 10 ply with an E1 load rating , been told each one has a weight capacity of over 3,100 pounds . One flat after running over a 16 penny nail in the side wall, beware of construction sites... Road hazard protection is a good thing. I replace them every 4 years, they always look like new when I replace them as the trailer is garaged when not on the road.....

Besides buying tires a few dollars at Harbor Freight buys you a set of trailer tire covers. Whenever I park my trailer at the house I cover the tires. I use the covers on the sun side of the racecar at the track. I also spray the tires with Aero 303 protectant once in a while.

Just an update to anyone who might be thinking about the Goodyears like I bought. I got them at Discount tire and like I said it was $655 and change. I looked and there was a rebate offer. I got back $60 on the 4 of them. That's a win.
