This past season I had issues cutting a light. I have always been pretty good at my reaction times. I changed a couple of things last year. I put a new planatery in my trans and changed the rear slicks from the 3183 to the 3190. The car is a 250 inch dragster with a 622 spreadport motor. The year prior I was Carrying between 1145 to 1150 in the box and this year to cut a light I had 1085 to 1090.

Has anyone had any issues when changing from a 3183 to 3190. Planatery is just a new one no changes to different gear.

Have you tried varying the rear tire pressure since the swap?

Have your eyes checked, then check your tire gauge and launch chip / t-stop / etc....enhancer timing?

You didn't say if the car has suspension. If it does, take a look at the shock (s).

It is a suspension car. The et’s are the same just the rt’s are different. Maybe I am just getting old. I am having the trans checked again.

Something is definitely off but if that were the case, I'd assume it would show up on the time slip.

I have put two different converters. Like I stated the ET's are the same. I will have the delay box checked out.

Yer right Tony.

So, I'm not up on my 3183 or 3190 tire sizes but are the new ones taller? You could be dragging something up front through the beam. We run at a track that had a lot of crown, a dragster guy couldn't cut a light one weekend, turned out his front tires were low on air and it was enough for the tire that was out in the crown to keep the body in the beam just enough to screw with him. Worth a look.

We saw an issue with several solenoids going bad that would throw weird reaction times. When it did it was very slow, .050-.070 lights, change the solenoids and that went away.
