Where can I get a nice plug to make my Mega 400 delay box removable? I don't really like the idea of using an ugly flat trailor plug.

Ladd Industries is the big distributor for the US. I buy from them but you need to be a $50 minimum. Special pliers are best suited for the terminals.

Pretty sure the yellow catalog store has them.

I used a bulkhead round 9-pin on mine. I've got plenty laying around in the garage.

Check the run book cause I'm quite sure this IS NOT allowed. It's gonna depend on your local track tech personnel.

I use all weather pack connection....what ever combination needed to the correct number of wires...i.e. 6 circuit and a 4 circuit. Remember on your Biondo stuff, if you are making this a box/no box deal where the trans brake will still be used...you'll need to set it up in a way that when the box is in your push button is ground and when the box comes out (and shorting plug goes on) you push button is 12V.

K&R with Switch set...

K&R removed...shorting plug installed

do you have a pic or diagram for the shorting plug i would need. I read you old post on the box no box deal but I am having a hard time seeing it. how do i remove the box if one side of the trans button is connected to its ground. Also it seems when i took the 12 v power to the push button wouldnt' that short since it would be connected to ground. Confused

Maybe I'll just a totally sepate button when the box it out.

this is from your old post

The easiest thing to do, use the ground terminal on the Biondo box to supply the ground to the push button (you'll have the box ground and the push button ground on the same terminal on the box). So, if you cut all the wires at the box and install a connector, you will have to create a "shorting plug" for when you remove the box. The shorting plug will have two loops, one taking the 12v that was for the box and looping it to the what was the ground for the push button. The other will go from what was the push button input on the box and loop it to the trans brake wire.

we run a mega box but have two buttons. one for the top bulb and one for the bottom bulb. we use a 6-way trailer harness for the connection. we also attach the box to the mounting plate with velcro. bottom bulb we take the box out and the harness goes to a relay. top bulb we use the box and a different button and relay. we often double or triple enter the car and the box comes in and out all night. fast and easy.

To simplify this a bit well only talk about the 12V, ground, push button in, and trans brake on the box side....4 wires! Now, add a 5th wire for transbrake push button "source," on the Mega its ground. Get that source from the Mega ground terminal (you now have two wires on that terminal, chassis ground and the wire feeding the push button (you are using this as a "splice". Now, cut those five wires in half and install a 5 circuit connector...when you unplug it you have no push button source. The shorting plug will be the same plug, male or female, that is on the Mega box...in that you will have two wires looped...one from the 12V wire (that supplied power to box) to the push button source wire, and one looped from the push button input (on box) wire to the trans brake out wire. another thing that makes it easier is to wire the 2 step to the trans brake solenoid at the solenoid, or what I do is splice it to the trans brake wire at the delay box plug (car side) that way when you unplug the box the 2 step is still connected and will activate with the shorting plug. My picture above is on a K&R that already has 12V sourced to the push button...yo can see the shorting plug with a single loop...push button input (red wire) to trans brake solenoid (grey wire)...yo can see a second wire under the grey...that is the 2 step wire. The set p in the pic is a little different because it also has a Switch Set Controller.

Hope this clears it up...I'll draw it up and scan it in tomorrow if I get some down time.
