Anybody know if FTI goes to National events?
If they do, will they re-cert a trans case at the races?
Does FTI have dealers that can re-cert?

Those are my questions.....

Who made the case? That's the only company that can recert.

I assume FTI made the case. It has an FTI name plate on it. I know it has to be the original manufacturer but I was wodering if their dealers could do it in their name.

FTI may chime in.
Give them a call if not.

I know I had a Reid case that was rebranded by a well known trans company (name plate riveted on) but when it came time for recert it had to go back to Reid.

Its either a Reid or an ATI, those are the 2 cases they use. If its a Reid there in Calif so allot closer for you to ship. I know we have a local trans builder in DFW that can re certify a Reid case so there may be others out there. Don't know about ATI

We mainly use Reid and ATI cases for our transmissions. With anything SFI, as the guys mentioned above it HAS to go back to the original manufacturer, but the unit also has to be tore down prior to this. Give me a call at the shop and I'll go over some of the options for you.

Don't forget to send the steel liner in along with the bare case. I made that mistake the first time.

I'm no expert on these things, but I believe so. Reid mentions it on their recertification instructions page, and one is pictured on Summit's listing for the ATI case here. There's the bellhousing, the case itself, and then the liner pictured.

As I understand it the Ried cases no longer use the steel liner. Mine came with it but it was not required and it was told it was a real tight fit to get it in there.

oh, the steel shield slips into the trans case itself? I figured it lined the inside of the bell housing....I'm used to the blow-ups being in the bell housing...Never had automatics until I went to a dragster lol

No part #'s I can find except a 4 digit cast in number....looks like 2870 and 2647...the FTI plate is riveted on so I can't look under it to tell brand.

I don't imagine Ontario is any better to send to, but Hutch can cert JE, ATI and Reid.

What a F'ed up deal this is....Stupid you have to crate up something like that and ship it across country instead of having your dealers be able to re-cert.....I mean how much training would you need to open a package, look at the part, stick on a new cert and ship it back....They still get their F'N free money for nothing...C*ck sucking NHRA/SFI racket

I would look and see if you can find someone local to re-cert it. Someone that builds them local may be able to do it.

The guy that I bought mine from local can re-cert them, so I can just drop mine off, no shipping.

Calling ATI for a shop recommendation might be quickest then if they allow others to do it.
