2014 Englishtown
Racetech 1960lbs
565 Ron's Terminator My Home built engine , never seen a dyno and really nothing trick...
1.80 first gear 4.10 rear gear 16.5 33.5 16 tires probably Hoosiers 18700....NO beadlocks, NO screws at that time
Spragless 9" 6200-6300
Launch at 4200-4400
1.078 60'
3.050
4.735
145.53
Shifting on time....1.6 = 6800
7300-7400 1/4 mile
7.456
178.31 I don't know how to post a picture or you'd see the slip..

Yes Englishtown is a good track but this was in June not in Mineshaft spring air...
This combination went a best MPH of 179+ running S/C...8.90....and that is not killer MPH by any means for a 565 with Injection

The same engine with a gas 1050 with virtually no other changes other than the carb and fuel

7.47 at 177+

Ran mostly S/C....8.90 at mid 170's with a best MPH on the stop of 176+

So your Big Pepperoni Pizza cam motor is not very fast especially if it weighs in the 1800lb zone with a light driver and an aluminum block as you stated....

Sure you can try a bunch of different converters looking for a gain but......??

Do you think I should try a bunch of converters, or just one?

They've got 4 converters in boxes already from running this long rod ratio tall deck *peaky power* screamer engine combo over the years.

Trust me, it'll have the right converter in it next time out.

BTW,,, I like the combo a lot. It's definitely not a chip off the old block.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch. Smile

If you know exactly what was the "right one" why didnt you put it in to start with?

Looking back at a Bradenton time slip from this car last Dec, it is almost a carbon copy of the one you posted. so it doesnt sound like anything changed.

That was a 6.535 connecting rod chip off the old block engine combo that the crank seized in, when the cast oil pump broke in two.

A lot has changed since last December, including it was a 7 hundredths slow for the new combo's initial trips down the track, this past weekend.

Long rod ratio screamer, I like this combo,,, A lot.

Thanks for mentioning that. Smile

I wasn't in charge of purchasing the converters last December either.

But now I am. Smile

Penske shocks are on the bench being built, be here in one week. Smile

Would've been nice to have a two way clicker on compression, but it is what it is.

Inline units will work adequately, I'm positive.

Where is Ed's 4.40 crate transmission time slip? I can't find it.

I wanna see how it compares to this transmission I assembled blindfolded with one hand tied behind my back. Behind a Little 585 BBC. Smile

Ed can plan on getting outrun by a little 585 BBC shortly.

There's some cars in Gainesville WOW, I think I'll head out 4 am for a time run at 8:30.

PTC nailed it.

This is exactly as Lane said Kenny wanted it.

It's gonna flash stall 6600 at trans brake release, dip back to 6450 - 6500 (peak torque) then go to the shift rpm.

Drop back to 6800-6900 on the shift.

Perfect.

Only mystery left is the slip percentage at the stripe. We'll find out BIG SFG race Bradenton. Look for the PTC stickers on #MEAN GREEN.

Gonna weigh/scale #MEAN GREEN tommorrow night.

PTC nailed it out of the box!

Perfect.

Flashes 6600 at hit

6800 drop back stall at shift

Crosses 7400 - 13.5% slip.

Perfect!

100 lb girl with a PTC converter getting it done so far in #MEAN GREEN. Right lane is 1 tight and slow from the left.

Car seems alright, not perfect yet but alright. Moved 2 thou from the first to second hit in the right. We did rich'n the mixture a hair though.

Her 100 lb sister doing alright so far as well. This is a Nesbittt 598 with ported Dart heads.

Clean up the bowls and short side on the Brodix 355's on the 565, and the 565 will outrun the 598, I'd bet. Or equal.

It don't matter though, bracket racing.

It's a 565, this one went 4.60's - 4 link - aluminum block - 100 lb drivers. I think picking up a little power is gonna be fairly simple.

Great job retard. After assembling the engine with your " Big Pepperoni Pizza cam" as well having the manifold welded and ported, assembling the trans and rear as well selling him shocks and the perfect converter, you SLOWED this car up at least a TENTH from it's previous best and missed the goal of 4.50s by 2 tenths! Not so "fairly simple"

BRAVO clapping Laughing very hard

This is the second fastest lap it has ever made.

Best is a 4.69 in A LOT better conditions.

Nobody's fault but mine. Engine, transmission and ring & pinion. Smile
