Would love to hear from someone that tried this Setup in a drag racing application .

That demonstration was pretty informative.

Interesting especially for the guys that put a carb on sideways. I would be interested in seeing how that works on a 1000hp motor on Alky.

Pretty trick. Looks like thats a barrel valve on the side connected to the throttle linkage either its opening to allow more fuel in or closing the return side off when you need more fuel to the jet well.

My question is this, what keeps the return side from getting over full? If the return side is at atmospheric pressure in the fuel bowl (IE fuel cell pressure), and all excess fuel (based on fuel pump sizing) is in the return system already, what forces the return fuel from the bowl back to the fuel tank other than gravity? Seems like gravity isn't enough and there needs to be some pumping effect on the return side else you risk over filling the return side.

What about pressure inside the bowl? Is it a fuel pump pressure or at atmospheric pressure? If its at fuel pump pressure then the return side is at fuel pump pressure too and the bowl in the video is not vented to atmospheric pressure. That would answer my first question from above about return fuel, but what about pressure that the jets see. Jets are setup to see atmospheric pressure right now and if this setup puts them under fuel pump pressure that would create a rich condition.

I certainly haven't seen these on a drag car which tells you something... I believe they have been around a while also...

APD did some billet float bowls that were designed to keep the bowls full also. Not sure if the bugs have been worked out,, the racers who had them that I know went back to the standard holley deal.

Been thinking about the return side a lot. The returns are on the right side of the carb and they are designed for roundy roundy cars. I'm sure centrifugal force helps push the fuel toward the returns in the corners. There is also a poppet valve on the inlet side to control fuel pressure at lower RPM.

I think KB carbs can work them in their builds , seen a facebook post where they are advertising this setup as an option .
