I know this will stir up some "debate" but here goes. I have been running 3190 on my dragster,best ET 4.41 at 157/6.95 at 193. I mainly run it in bracket mode around 4.46-4.50 or 7.00-7.08. I just bought my buddies Deltas off his GXP that has MT 3197 with 52 passes. I ran them last weekend at elevation in Boise and I do like them but they are not available. Aluminum 11* 632 making 1250 hp I have considered going to Hoosier 18790 or waiting on MT 3197. I like the Bubbas but after 50 runs or so I can see the 60' vary more and more. I am also open to suggestions on any newer Hoosier tire that is out there. What are you guys seeing for tire life out of the MT3197 and Hoosier 18790. | ||

My 3196's with almost 50 passes went back to back .916,.918 Never ran the 97's though... 3196 are no longer an option as they were replaced by the 3197. I have seen too many 3195 chunked so won't even consider that tire and MT will not replace them if it happens. | |||

Currently have 42 runs on my 3197s going 3.80s-90s and 6.10s @ 225 plus in 1/4. Ask me again how there doing after this weekend at the D4 race in Tulsa as its going to be hot. Why cant you get the 3197? I have not seen any availability issues resently where i have checked | |||

Steve, everywhere I've looked says unavailable, even MT site says they are in production currently.The 3197 on my car now have 64 passes on them. They worked well but that was about 7000'DA so it was down on power going 7.15 with 1.05-1.06 60' | |||

We aren't as quick as you but have put 250 passes on the 18790 in the past when bracket racing with the 60 foots still varying thousands from pass to pass. | |||

Aluminum Block in Boise is a struggle in the heat with any tire. That track will move more than a sea level track fellas. Lived there most of my life. Troy Thomas ran BR3s there most of last year with much success in the heat. His car only goes 7.50 though there. I'm pretty sure Mark Kidd will be there this next weekend with them on his car. We've found 175-200 on the BR3 is easily a good number. Our cars go 1.05-1.07 generally 4.60 152. I loved the 18790 and wouldn't go back from the BR3 either. Just say'n | |||

The LB's are great tires. As for the BB's. if you don't get at least 250 passes from them your doing something wrong. I have 150 on a set now and they still have a ton of life left in them. (RED that runs 6.80's) I have used the 3195, 96's and 97's. All work great. No recent experiences with the Hoosiers. I have used their 33.5 and 34.5 tires, found the MT's to be much better in the burnout, no tire shake which was very bad with the 34.5 Hoosiers, and down track, Hoosiers likes warm weather conditions, cool and cold tracks the MT's were night and day better. In general the MT's have a much larger sweet spot than the Hoosiers for my deal. | |||
