Drive shaft collar for a 12 bolt?

I'm looking at adding a Racepack Sportsman logger. The drive shaft collar has to be purchased separately for obvious reasons.

Here's my problem, The strange Yoke on my 12 bolt rear end is the older style that is not machined for the collar. The 1.75 shaft is too small and there's no room between the Pinion seal and Yoke.

The solutions provided are;
Option 1 replace a perfectly good Yoke with the newer machined version (which is 1/2" longer and require the Drive shaft shortened 1/2").

Or option 2 drill tap the Diff and install a sensor that counts Ring gear teeth.

Are these the only two options?

Or option 3 have the yoke machined.

Or option 4 a friend of mine made a collar that had webs on the inside to fit between the nuts for the u-bolts on his Dana 60.

You always do have the option of putting the collar on the transmission slip yoke. Not optimum but it does work in most cars.

Glide / TH 350 = 1./5"
Th400 = 1.875 "

I thought about that but the yoke would be severely weakened which is why the new yoke's are 1/2 inch longer.

That's interesting, so it just bolts down with the Saddle bolts. Might be too much of a custom job for me.

What Yoke do you have? my older strange yoke only has .2 inch's between the pinion seal and the back side of the U-joint saddle so there's no room to fit a collar, again why the new yoke's are 1/2" longer and requires cutting the drive shaft.

I don't think this one is 1/2" longer like you are saying.

I spoke with strange and they told me it is not machined for the collar, I believe he said the reason is the raised portion you see well be under the pinion seal. But you are correct, it's the correct length.

After looking again on the Strange web site I see they have the measurement from the front of the Yoke to the end of the raised portion of the shaft. I'm going check to see if it is under the pinion seal. Could be the Strange tech I spoke to was wrong!

I don't think the larger stepped area is in the seal.

It would be nothing much to narrow the portion of the collar that would clamp to that small section if need be also. It could sit just outside the seal and the counterbored area could move forward toward the u-joint if you can picture what I am saying.

I bored out the slightly smaller collar also. I have a Moser yoke and it has just barely enough room for the collar to fit.
