Bender, I figured you'd be all over this along with a few others...

On tonight's show they got another race going between the Fireball Camaro and Gag Monkey's Cuda that previously race Big Chief!!! So they showed Gag Monkey digging the car out of their storage area and it has 4 flat tires, all HOOSIER!!!! They had to air up all four tires to move it out into the shop!

Ed, this must feel like the day you found out there was no Santa Claus!!!!!! LOL!

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

I will say I watch them now that they actually do some track racing. Ever notice cars that seem to have the trans sitting right next to them without any tin work? I only get a glimpse so that may not be the way it is. It just struck me as unusual.

We haven't run tunnels over transmission for years in our Promod cars, NHRA just requires you to wear the proper driver suit.

I'm not sure what the Discovery Channel rules are ?

I get the trans tunnel deal, all the new cases are certified without shields anyhow, quicker to change in between commercials I guess. I always laugh when I see the guys with 100k in their race cars and they have some $50 helmet.

I don’t think trans tunnel would do much in a failure other than maybe keep some oil off the driver. I am sure a tunnel keeps some heat off the driver.

Front engine dragster you straddle the trans so really sitting next to it is not that big of a deal.

What amount must one spend on a Snell or SFI-approved helmet to be safe?

I do not know about the helmets, but the clear sfi rated gloves many of them wear seem really cool. Talk about good feel for the button! Uncontrollable Laugh

I see some in open face helmets in a car with more nitrous than ive ever seen. Its not the money its the condition of the helmets. Ive seen better at garage sales....
