I used to run the 2052, you should off the 15's and get some 16's they are a better ride and are more consistent on that et of a ride IMO

We still run 15" wheels. We have had the best luck with Goodyear 2070, 2071, and 2052's. But we don't meet your criteria of 4.7x's as we run mid 4.8 to upper 4.9's depending on weather and track conditons.

Goodyear looks to have several new tires out for a 15" wheel. I posted the #'s and sizes in another thread... can't recall off the top of my head what they were.

I know of a couple people that run the 33x16 and 33x16.5s Hoosiers on rides that are as quick or quicker than 4.7x's and they do well.

I'm running 15 inch wheels and I still like my Mickeys. I hate to say never but I will never run a Goodyear tire again. Have never had a single set that worked. Maybe I'm jinxed.

Cashflow, what M/T tire do you use? Especially now that a lot of the 15" tires have been discontinued and/or changed.

Thanks guys for the info..

I have 3084 M/T's right now and they must have the swine flu cause they hate cold weather..

But they have several passes on them now to so i must take that into consideration also.

Scott it was nice meeting you at Indy also by the way..Sorry i didnt make it over to the other side but there always seemed to be someone distracting me with a cooler in hand.

But MT has NOTHING comparable to the 3084 anymore, correct? Hardtail owners are just SOL I suppose. WHY does MT do this? The 3084 was the best tire EVER for a hardtail, by far.

I have put the 30791,and 30761 on hardtails with success.
M/T has some new things on the way. You have to get rid of the old before the new is availible in any manufacturing application.
Yes the 3084 is gone.
These tires have the newest compound technology. The relationship of the sidewall construction compared to contact patch compound has been where M/T has made there gains in performance.

The 30791 is 2in narrower than the 3084. Do you think the performance will be the same? I guess if you looked at my launch pic, you would see the outer inch or more of my tires arent touching the track anyway.....I really hate to make a $600 mistake on tires.

Just looked at MT website again....WC, are you suggesting I put the 30791 on my hardtail? That shows to be a stiff sidewall tire. Is this correct? Why would I want to do that when Hoosier recommends the exact opposite?

If $ 600.00 is a lot of money and if you want me to give my best recommendation you need to call me. The 5 series # on not the conventional STIFF side wall. It shares a similar sidewall as the 3185.
