i kept blowing the stants about 3 a year, changed water necks and still the same thing, got the corvette and everything was in front of me so I bought the Mezzier one, expensive but it will be going on the truck if I can find a way, but with the mini blower going to be tough. Keeping the Socialists and NEO-LIBERALS at bay with FACTS one post at a time !!! Freedom isn't free !!! Thank a veteran, they will actually appreciate it. | |||

had a stant cap fail like this earlier this yr at 150 mph was not a fun ride lucky I kept it off the wall but took out a few foam blocks and did some good damage to the car I put meziere on my car now seem like a real nice piece. I cant post pictures of my stant or I would | |||

I bought my first dragster in 2001, and it had a plastic Permacool radiator cap of unknown age on it. The same radiator cap is still going strong today on my current dragster. Tony Leonard | |||

Tony, I wouldn't/don't have any part on my cars that is 10 years old no mind over 20 years old and something as cheap and easy to swap out like a radiator cap wouldn't be the part that I ignore as the potential for a crash is way too high if/when it fails. | |||

Sometimes newer does not equal better. A lot of stuff today is junk compared to 20 years ago. Stuff made with components from oversees with no oversight or quality control. Too many companies getting parts private labelled and claiming they are theirs. 72 Nova "Hooptie" | |||

The tabs cracking is exactly why I came up with the girdle. The Meziere Cap is nice and hopefully 1leg will chime in on if there is a fix for their cap. Certainly a nice piece. SL... | |||

Maybe, just spit balling here, its the filler neck and not the actual caps fault. Too much pressure on the tabs, not from the pressure within the cooling system but from the manufacturing of the filler neck being out of spec. I would measure A and B and go from there. First problem is that lever vent.Get rid of that Ed. And if you are constantly needing to bleed the pressure off and remove the cap for whatever reason you need to fix whatever is wrong with the cooling system. Been servicing cooling systems for 35 years and I never installed a lever vent on anything. Motorad either took over or bought out stant and I never had anything for motorad products so there goes the Stant quality you used to be able to count on... Like everything else nowadays. | |||
