Are you putting it on the exact same dyno? If so when?

My opinion, not enough compression. That thing needs some squeeze, on the order of at least mid 15's
Short about a hundred hp...
My 598 with 15.7 2 carbs with a ported cast dart some eddie Musi heads with 2.325 intakes, 288/308 .820 net on gas made low 1100 , like 1120's

123 chamber???? going to be hard to get compression up very high. also Rusty had Frankenstein work his heads and that thing flew after that.

Rusty, those are some stout numbers mind sharing the build sheet?

from feeble memory,lol
brodix aluminum block
cheap crank
cheap rods
around 284/296 dur near 500 lobe
dart 380 pro 2 worked by slick rick and Frankenstein
the big victor intake
compression 15.2
carb work from a local guy in canton tx
the real secrete is getting weight off of the car i worked pretty hard at that

The dyno is indoors just don't want to beat on it in nasty 100% humidity type weather. Last time i did that the tune up was different than what i normall run, seems like i had to put more timing in it than i wanted to run on normal race day. Tried to get it done last weekend but fought intake gasket water leaks all day. Its a low deck intake and tall deck motor so i used intake spacer plates and screwed them to the intake so i wouldnt have to worry about them coming off the intake everytime i removed it. The felpro 1275-5 gasket fit the ports like a champ, but missed some around one of my countersink bolts that goes through the plate into the intake manifold so it was spewing water like whoda thought it. 2 sets of gaskets later i figured out what was causing it and swapped to a mr gasket gasket and got it to seal up. That was last weekend, things are coming together for this weekend so i hope to have some info and a good tune up to share by sunday.

I agree with everyone's assessment about the compression, it needed more wind. Its a long story on how this combo came together so i won't bore you with all that but it did make nice power before so if it makes 800+tq and 1000+ HP i'll be happy.

Rusty, did you have a 53' living quarters trailer for sale a couple years back? I think we talked when i was looking for one of those trailers seemed like you wanted somewhere around 35K for it or so. FYI i shoulda came and bought it. I still don't have one! LOL

This one made 840 TQ at 5800 and 999 HP at 6800 RPM. Should have tuned it more as i think there's more left in it above 6800, but ran out of time.
