Would think you would do it buy changing timing, launch and shift. What is maximum ET you could kill in 2400 lb roadster with 582 running 520 in the 1/8?

Launch 10* retarded and leave it out the entire run. Shift to high gear 0.32 after launch. This could be good for 0.50 or more. Try it and let us know.

I can't give specifics in your case but can tell you in my 2000lb roadster with just a small block that by leaving in high gear with no timing pulled kills about .400

I have always been surprised how much it takes to kill e.t. For last year's bracket finals I had to slow my car from mid 5.70s to 6.40 or above. I added 85lbs and shifted at 5000 rpm instead of 6800 and it went 6.50

Without adding weight it just doesn't change near as much. I accidentally had my shifter set at 5200 and made a normal pass and it killed .022

Pulling timing should help.

Curtis

We kill timing(12 degrees) and use a smaller 1050 carb on my sons dragster to slow him down as he is not licensed for 7.49 and below. It kills .2 up here in Vegas. When he goes to sea level we short shift it and leave soft and he is on his own up top. loves to dial 7.51 and play the game. He will be licensed for advanced ET when the car comes back out. FWIW the car has been 7.51 in Sale Lake with the big carb and timing in it at 9800' DA
