which rod for a 598 tall deck 6.535 or 6.700
6.700 or you'll have a pretty heavy piston. unless it's blown
6.41@221 (so far)
off the shelf/built it myself
Not sure why it was originally done but mine has 6.800
The Pull-Out....for when you want to work smarter, not harder!!!
Ran a 4.500,6.535 with a 1.395 in a tall deck for 860 some runs, no issues. Chamfer the bottom of the holes and dont get too much over .008 pw. It will run just fine.
Just about everything will run, and run decent. Some combos better than others but it will be ok.
Will you actually see the difference between a 6.535 or a 6.7 or a 6.8, probably not.
Got a 6.665 right now on a 4.5 and it is so close to the old 6.535 combo except for a tad more camshaft. Just a little faster, but the same cubic inches. dont sweat it.
With the 6.700 you should have a 1.245 CH. Unless it's a spec piston. No worry, you'll be good to go.Just curious, what/who's piston?
Thanks for the input everyone!
