Looks like that works for the HERO5

We have not dealt with the HERO5, only the 2 through 4.

If you have all the pieces and get it mounted in a location that meets the new requirements, that is a good thing.

Thanks for posting it.

So, Mike, do you make the cage for the Session go pro, to use with your mount?

Threepedals

We buy the cage from REDROCKMICRO and put it on our mount.

Our mount will no longer meet the rules for NHRA.

It is my guess, for the most part, local track events will not enforce the camera rules. Just about anything will work at most bracket racing type events.

I still have some roll bar mounts that work with any GoPro sticky mount.
If you want the roll cage mounted swivel type mount. I can still help with those.

email me if you want

Yes the cage is for any of the session series cameras. The aluminum tripod mount will work with any GoPro though. That allows the camera to be rotated 360 degrees.

As far as local bracket events not enforcing it, my track manager is the one who sent me the new rules and said sorry. So Lebanon valley will be enforcing it anyway. We’ll come up with a solution. Especially since I just bought a second camera for my wife at the end of the year. I really like the videos for top end analysis especially as she is working to improve on that area.

We had a Replay helmet mounted cam on last year at most of the NHRA we attended and no one ever said a word about it

With the exception of a couple of the angles these were all go-pro and Mike’s Mount. Some are on top of the roll cage, some are using his mount behind the engine, attached to the wheelie bar, on the lower frame rail, and a couple are from a small helmet camera and mount used for firefighting helmets. Mount is super solid and isn’t going anywhere. This is on 2 different cars, and mounted on the Bimini top of our boat.

I’ll just ask the tech guys at Phoenix in February. We’ll see what they have to say.

I use one of Mike B's mounts. SOB is stronger than AJAX.I no longer have the dragster and its mounted to the cross bar inside my door car just to my right. It sees everything button release steering wheel opponent. Looks like for NHRA this is legal if your in a door car. to get a gopro inside the cage of a dragster with you?? well your cage might need to fit GODZILLA. I do know you can put the cam in upside down off the hoop behind your head and to the side, or place it on the main hoop just above the body panel sideways. You would need some type of wingnut to tight by hand so you can get in and out easy, this would also facilitate video editing to get the pic right side up but that's easy. There are ways around this if you want. But on the original note Mike cam mount is pretty much bullet proof

Nothing to do with the topic, but are you 'Dead On' from Luke Bogacki's story about crashing the car on a bye run, then coming back to win the race?
