My fuel consumption on Methanol is approx. 1.6 times the amount of race gas I had been burning, (60% increase in consumption).
Alky prices here in N. TX run about $3 per gallon (or less) if you buy a drum, and unless you get extorted by a VP dealer, even buying it by the 5 Gal jug at a local track it is never over $4.
I haven't priced race gas in about 5 years, but it had gotten stupid expensive back then, which was one of several reasons why I switched to alcohol. Even if I were using twice as much of it as gas, the cost of race gas was 4x what Methanol cost. Probably still in that range, and not even talking the exotic VP stuff either. How much is plain old 110 or 112 octane race gas these days?
