I have seen two very nice cranks break the snout off right behind timing gear like that. The lower timing gear has a sharp edge and a good crank has a larger radius, if that timing gear hits the radius it may create a stress riser and it breaks fairly smooth right there. That is not the fault of the crank or balancer that did it.

And if you got 4,000 passes on that motor, I would consider building another just like it and not change a thing. (With better timing gear)

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

I would see if you could get Eagle to warranty that. Razz

When I see a broken crank topic the first thing that comes to mind is Eagle....

More times than not that is the case.
