I have ran many different synthetic oils with alcohol and have had zero compatibility problems. I have used Amsoil, Synergen, Lucas, Driven, Renegade, Champion, Brad Penn (semi synthetic), Castrol. I think there was another but it slips my mind. The only problem I have encountered with any of them is that Driven seems to sheet off more than the others and doesn't leave behind much oil film so I saw rusting on my rocker shafts and valve springs that I never noticed before.

That isn't an indictment of the oil but more so my laziness.

Curtis

I've been using Amsoil with a Rons Terminator on a 555-582 BBC for about 15 years now changing oil after 60-70 runs with no issues. If I wasn't able to get Amsoil, I would use Mobil-1. Personally, I don't think someones choice of fuel should matter when deciding what oil to use - if I had that much fuel and/or moisture in my oil, I would change my tune-up or improve my crankcase evac system before I tried finding an oil that will 'stand up to it'. Just my $.02
