It’s tough to try and tune an unknown motor at a race while you race. Lol. I followed the AFR and started throwing fuel at it and it didn’t respond...so I went back the other way. Car went 4.80 last night..and I’m sold that the converter is wrong and my 2.200 Q16 carb isn’t quite right (looks good up from and down truck but is all over the place through the middle. The converter is going 7000-7150 on the leave...

So this morning I put my NOS converter in...32/26 jet on at .200 at 70% and all in after 1.5 sec... it rattled the tires but drove through it...shifted really early (in the shake) and hit the high side chip (8200) at 500’ and still went 4.38 at 160!!!

Looking at the data...this converter went 6500 before the NOs came on...went 7200 after... I’m going to leave it in there for motor runs tomorrow as I think it’s better suited for the motor down there. Been launching at 5600 and shifting at 7700 (doesn’t actually shift until 8000)...going to back that all down and see if it likes it....

What’s old??? Lol

The car I believe was built in 1997...wow the comp championship in 2002...been in bracket trim since 2010. Car doesn’t have a lot of runs...but she works. Went 1.00 60’ this morning...have seen .980 a time or two!

It's more likely that you are 165 years old than me being 165 lbs of weight!
It likes the spray for sure. I'm betting that it won't like the tighter converter without the spray. I'm wrong plenty though. 7000 seems to be the sweet spot for mine.

Now you need to change your tag line at bottom of your posts to 4.38 @ 160

How much tire pressure do you run in your 10.5's on the dragster? Have a friend that switched to those tires and needs a starting point.

Don't get behind me,I'm in the slow lane.

That is just an impressive engine. And it does all this on a 10-1/2" tire.

My thoughts exactly!! I’ll get the build sheets and dyno sheet this week I hope! I’m going to buy this to run until “the big motor” is done! All I know is it’s 436” with Oliver rods and Profiler 23* heads, NOS chambers and ring package, and a NOS cam... motor was dynod with a PRCcarb on C23...I used my Dale Cubic 2.200 and Q16 and had to pull a lot of jet away. I know there’s some left in it just with carb, timing and a good set of headers.

As for the tire...on this car...they work so much better than a big tire! It’s went 1.04 60’ the last 4 runs. I’ve been .985 on this tire on the wheelie bar! The more power the better they work! Need to beadlock them and I bet they get better...
