Anyone have any feed back on adding a bottle of Lucas Trans aditive when servicing the trans on their tow vehicle? Trans is a 4L80E with no known problems, just changing fluid and filter.

I wouldn't use it on anything you care about. Roll Eyes

That said, if you have a unit that has trouble and as a last ditch attempt before yanking or selling, could be worth a try. I did this a while ago and don't recall any magical results. Heck, I think I still have some laying around if you want it. Big Grin

I've used Lubegaurd in the past, good stuff. Just wondering about the Lucas additive. I've used the oil additive on a couple of high mileage cars with good results. Only used the trans additive on 1 high mileage trans with a sticky valve.

Snake oil. All that stuff you see in the chemical isles at auto supplies and Wal-Mart is just a waste of money. No magic chemical is going to rejuvinate worn clutches, burned drums, leaking seals or failed electrical solenoids. Service your car and change the fluid like your supposed to with the recommended fluid.

Lubeguard keeps valves moving freely, and reduces transmission temperature.

The trans in my pickup started making bad noises and slipping. I put in 2 bottles of Lucas Transmission Fix all the while thinking Im an idiot. With a little use the noise and slip went away. I figured Id have to rebuild it but needed some time to put the money together. The same thing happened to my wifes truck (both Dodge) but it didnt work. Hers is now rebuilt and mine is still running. Both are now using Amsoil synthetic fluid. I dont know what was wrong with mine but the additive did what I wanted.
