I have a 509, 4.500 bore and 4.00 stroke, Wiesco Pistons with a 1.645 compresssion height, Oliver rods, GM Performance forged crank, 11.3 to 1 compression, Comp custom hydraulic roller camshaft cam with .647 lift, 256/262 @.050, Moroso pan, 31 passes on new Comp springs, Comp hdr roller lifters, less than 100 on the entire motor. GM Aluminium heads (12363391 GM part number 2.25/1.88 valves), 290cc intake runner that flow 330 at .700 lift, 320 at .600 lift. Harland sharp roller rockers 1.7. I shift the motor at 6400 and it goes through the 1/8th at 6100. Runs 5.66@122 in the 1/8th. Haven't run it in the 1/4 but should run 8.80's in the 148 range at around 6600 RPM; that is with a 4.10 gear and a 33x16x15 tire and a tight convertor in a 2500lb truck. The motor was built for no maint. Selling it from ATI balancer to flywheel and from Victor 454 intake to Moroso pan. motor makes 700+hp and around 670 Tq. Motor has never had any spray on it but would handle it. I was just wondering what a good price would be??

I bought a 509 2 years ago. It was owned by a very well known S/G racer here in the northeast. New crane pro lifters, new springs, titanium valves, 15-1 compression. JE pistons, Lunati pro mod rods, Callies good crank, Bowtie block, Jesel belt Dart heads......$8500 with a Stinnett gas 1050. It was fresh and had zero runs on all the new parts. Has run 7.71 at 170+ in my dragster on alcohol. You can't hardly give away an engine that small anymore.....It filled my need at the time and I knew the owner. He was sick and passed away from his illness later that year.....

Bos, come on down to nacogdoches and tune this 509 of mine, seems you have yours humming, might know a guy here interested, i'll tell him tomorrow. thanks
Already got me a little bigger motor, should be able to go in the 5.0 range on motor now with a couple of upgrades. Then might even turn on "Mr. Frosty" for a little 4.70 action.
