For 13 years, the team of Jared Pennington and Steve Stites through their Coalburg Racing Promotions company have provided Footbrake racers; those who leave off the bottom bulb by essentially swapping feet; with some of the best high dollar footbrake races in the country. By this time next year, all the footbrake crowd will be speaking about is the largest purse in the history of that class with the official announcement today of a $100,000-to-win race specifically for the footbrake crowd, with the entire purse 100-percent guaranteed regardless of car count. As is custom with any Coalburg Racing Promotions event, a win light in the second round earns some round money.

In probably the worst kept secret leading up to this official announcement, co-promoter Pennington said, “With all the high dollar events taking place for the top bulb or delay box racers, we felt as if the footbrakers deserved as much. This is the right time to do it and we feel this is going to be the largest race held for that crowd.

“We’re extremely proud to say the BTE Racing will be the title rights sponsor for the event as they have been for every World Footbrake Challenge and Southern Footbrake Challenge since we began,” Pennington added.

Labor Day weekend, 2020, is the date and the place will be Bristol Dragway in Tennessee. Plans are still taking place, but the main event to be held on Saturday, September 5th, will be bookended by two $10,000-to-win races on Friday and Sunday, leaving Labor Day Monday as a clean-up/travel day as needed. As they do at their other events, Thursday will be a Gambler’s race, with a Friday Gambler’s race also time permitting.

Pre-entry for the $100,000 race only will begin immediately and it will not be capped as to entry amounts. Gate entries will be accepted. Pre-entry will provide a discounted entry fee for those choosing to do so. And much like previous WFC and SFC races, pre-entries are 100-percent refundable should a racer not able to attend. The race will follow all of the WFC and SFC rules.
