Rooster,I so glad you asked.... Wink.......how many people that would actually go to the big buck race, that race at the local track, not to many,I can think of 5.................so I don't see it being a problem to go ahead and reschedule the local event on top of the big buck race...........................JMBAO..................................... Big Grin....................

I think very few racers who intended on going to either of the big money footbrake races this coming weekend are going to let a $1500 race with no round money stand in their way. Wink

I really don't care what they do with the race, but right now the only real weekend on our schedule available would be November 21st-November 22nd. Which is also the make up for Coastal Plains race if it gets rained out, but so far the weather is looking good.

Rooster ain't got no feelings to hurt Big Grin

But what the deal is is that the same ones leading the points in this series are the very same ones that would be most likely to go to the big race. Frown

scheduel it and they will come, the ones leading any type event may let this make them rethink what they want to do ,but me im more now into money events and not chaseing a trophy.so the guys and gales who are not doing big money events will be thier and have more a chance at winning when 10 of the top 15 racers are else where.

This is exactly why I don't run for points anymore. Point the truck at whichever race looks best on any given weekend and go.

I've seen people leave a $5K race to go to a $750 race in a points series that might pay $1000 to win. Banging Head

rooster,,,every ones situation is different,,,,here is mine....

all worked up about racing the coast and south thru the first of the year,,,drivin good, car has been a machine.....bang--never fails,,,, NHRA bracket finals ---starts taking a dump,,,,not realizing how serious it was,,,checked a few things, seemed OK,,,IHRA bracket finals--takes the dump

so now here we sit, different combo,,dont know if car will even go down the track within a .10 of itself and all these big money races,,,,so now Im forced to test n tune for a few races,,,just cant give out big entrys and travel money......so I guess were stuck racing close

Tg Im in the same boat as you. Got back from montgomery and found a cracked cylinder. Hopefully things go good and I get my power plant back tommorrow just dont know how its going to run.I guess I will just ride the rest of the week out and see how things go.I spent alot of my winter funds for a new dart block and so on. Big entry is hurting me this week.

I agree with Rooster. I can't afford the big money stuff much, much less chasing it from state to state. If all the local tracks closed down and all we were left with was big money racing I'd quit. Good for Mooresville going ahead with the race and letting the locals have a place to race this weekend.

Sometimes it's not such a dumb idea forgoing a $1000-$1500 expense weekend to stay at home and pay $50 with a better chance of winning a little something.

I'm telling ya...tracks used to be packed for a $1000 or $2000 footbrake race and locals could join in and afford it. Now that is considered a joke and we have races that cost $500 for one entry and then we wonder why the locals aren't supporting them. Hmm...I wonder.

I've won a fair share of those races and points series. Paid for all the upkeep on my car and then some. I've had some limited success at the big money races which is more than most can say, but on average I have lost a crap load more money chasing the big money than what I have gained chasing the small money.

This happens up here each year. Tracks schedule points on top of Norwalk Ten Grand Nationals. Hard to pass on 3 $10K races for $100 entry fee for the weekend. Like we tell friends that insist on running points, there is not a track around (besides Norwalk) that pays you $10K to win points. You got to go where you get the best bang for your buck.

I know of at least 6 cars that were planning to run the 5 second shootout last week and go to south Ga this week, all are still going to south Ga.These racers are from SC and Ga.
I hate that the rain mucked the schedule up, Farm bound for turkey day if the creek don't rise.
